BTJ WAR UPDATE, JUNE 16, 2025

Since war with Iran broke out in Israel on June 13th, Boys Town Jerusalem’s faculty, social services department and administration have rallied to secure students’ emotional, physical and academic wellbeing. With the government mandating an emergency closure of all school campuses, students will now continue the school year from home via Zoom.

All our dorm students have been safely evacuated to locations that are physically and emotionally safe. Our teachers and dedicated staff remain in constant touch with them.

Dean of Students Rabbi Meir Linchner reports that seven BTJ teachers have received emergency callups to their IDF Reserves units. As of today, the school has postponed the opening of its long-awaited Summer Camp by one week, which Your Boys will need more than ever before.

BTJ Junior High Principal Rabbi Yehudah Rosencrantz is leading the transition from classroom learning to virtual instruction, as these measures are being taken to support students:

  • Every teacher is personally phoning students to check in, build their confidence, and – most importantly – listen for any signs of distress.
  • BTJ counselors and social workers are keeping in close phone contact with students and their parents to provide emotional support, encouragement and practical assistance.

Above all, BTJ staff is working diligently to ensure students’ safety. In homes without a proper Safe Room, efforts are being made to find solutions that will provide secure shelter during missile attacks.

“At this challenging time when no one know what the future holds, our top priority is to give every student stability and strength,” he promises.
